Help! I'm surrounded by film snobs!
Which is why I will not be seeing Texas Chainsaw Massacre tonight, and will instead be seeing Idiocracy. Not that Idiocracy looks unpromising, mind you...just that I now get yelled at for my inferior movie choices. hahaha. ok, not yelled at, but at the very least scoffed at.
Look, I know I like bad movies. Some of the time. But that doesn't mean that I can't choose a winner every once in awhile, and it certainly doesn't mean I lack the ability to analyze what I am watching, whether it is critiquing the godawfulness of it or enjoying the splendor.
I have to admit that lately I have been watching more films. I am seeking inspiration. My life lacks something...I don't know what. I don't desire to go out and party among people, but I crave experience. Vicarious though it may be, a film is a good place to both escape from and immerse myself in life. All the better if it's a good film. Perhaps better still if it is a just plain awful one. Mediocraty can kiss my ass.
