Nerdosity defined

I love my nerdy child. Sometimes his sheer nerditude compels me to giggle and grin and wish to share. So I am sharing this nerdy fact about him and hoping he never stumbles upon this, because I don't want him to be embarrassed that I shared...

...ok, here goes. My nerdy child likes to stay up late at night...well past his bedtime...listening to the Prairie Home Companion's Pretty Good Jokes CD and practicing chess by himself, while reading a book about chess moves.

He just made me sit there and watch while he demonstrated various games. I have no earthly clue what he is really doing, but I smiled and nodded a lot, and he seemed satisfied with my level of participation. hahaha. It is a good thing he is in chess club or he would never be able to improve his game playing with his ignorant-of-all-things-tactical mom.

Anyway...just thought I would share, in case you needed clarity on how very nerdy it is around here.
